Here´s the complete tutorial on how to make yourself an Ann Demeulemeester inspired zipper fringe scarf! E-mail me if you have any questions. I do take custom orders if you´d prefer one made by me. The prize is 180 € (+ shipping costs).
You´ll need:
black bias tape, about 2 metres
22 jacket zippers (here 80cm long)
pins
scissors
sewing needle
denim sewing thread

STEP 1:
Undo the zippers and arrange them in two piles. You can save the zipper pulls for later projects.

STEP 2:
Mark the bias tape middle (here red pin). Measure about 10-12 cm to both sides from this mark and pin (white pins). These are the starting points for your zippers.

STEP 3:
Start pinning the zippers from the white pin marks. Place metal teeth facing the middle pin and beginning just above the fold line. Pin the zippers about 1 cm apart, just barely overlapping each other.

STEP 4:
Pin 22 zipper halfs on either side.

STEP 5:
Sew by machine or by hand, the zippers on to the bias tape allowance as close to the fold as possible. Sew twice for a better hold.

STEP 6:
Sew by machine or by hand, the zippers on to the bias tape allowance as close to the fold as possible. Sew twice for a better hold.

STEP 7:
Cut out zipper ends so they are in-line with the bias tape edge. Be careful not to cut any stitching.

STEP 8:
Cut out canvas from all the zips. If you look closely at the zipper ends, you´ll see that I have left a few millimetres of canvas there to hold the zips i place better.

STEP 9:
After cutting all canvas strips out, fold and pin the bias tape in place.

STEP 10:
Pin the bias tape all around and sew along the tape edge. You can sew either by hand or machine.

FINISHED!
