Hah. I just realised that even after more than 500 posts I still havn´t written about bunnies. I abdore them. Sooo what if I´m also into steampunk stuff.. Are there any options out there for us bunny lovin steampunkers? Hell yeah! Just type in a funny looking tag combo of "steampunk" and "bunny". I really did not expect to find anything, but Flickr and Etsy surpriced me, yet again. I love you guys. Oh, and happy May Day everyone!! Spring has finally arrived to Finland!

This hand-made woven (where and by who? it does not say) and knotted cotton shoelace bag with braided handles is available at Creatures of Comfort, will set you back 207 bucks. This kind of knotted bag can also be made from jersey strips cut from old t-shirts. (Just black or different colors? You decide.) You think you could manage this for less than 200? Maybe leather fringes at the bottom...

Apparently I´m re-posting Style Bubble´s entire last week today... That girl just finds the coolest stuff! I confess, I´m a lazy ass copycat with limited writing skills. When I see inspirational images in someones blog, I´ll re-post them if I do not have any new OutsaPop projects to post about. Not very original, but as long as you like what I find, who cares! Right?! Let me know if you feel different.
Fringes, fringes, fringes. Stylish and quick DIY. Images from Costume Dept. Autumn/Winter 2009 collection, via Nitrolicious. Found via StyleBubble.
StyleBubble found this skeleton styled gray hoodie hanging at Topshop. The front bodice pieces are cut out from the side seam, cut to strips and knotted and finally the strip end sewn back to the side seam. They say BUY, I say DIY.
Peeps.Org is a label designed by New York based Mia Lindquist. Affordable, if you want to buy and inspirational if you´re more into DIY. My favorite is this top re-styled from men's button up shirt with shoulder cutouts. Found via StyleBubble.

I´m all about bow right now. I´ve seen them made in so many materials and ways but this leather bow by Attila Design is gorgeous and has such a fresh design! And I love that it is made from leather. Available from Attila Design Etsy shop. TRULY HANDMADE FINNISH STUFF.
Her skirt design with a detachable ruffle detail is genious.

Well, the recycle fair is over and I´m just so tired... Two days of crafters, recyclers and talking trashion. Handed out about 200 business cards.. It was so much fun and I met so many new people and brands like Remake EkoDesign, Ainokainen, and Defender just to name a few. It seems recycle crafting is live and well in Helsinki.
Now, here come the good and bad news... The bad news is that I sold only 6 items during the fair sooo most of the fair was just trashion PR. Now the good news: I have decided to finally open my own Etsy shop!! All the stuff that I made for the fair and did not sell will be available soon in my new OutsaPop Trahion Etsy shop (fashionably late of course). And what Helsinki people passed, you gained :) Just give me two weeks to take some proper pictures of the stuff and learn the shopkeeping bizz.. Stay tuned.

Seen at Etsy bulletin board:
"Newsflash! Project Runway wants YOU!
That's right, ladies and gents, Bravo's Project Runway is gearing up for its seventh season, and they're actively seeking designers. Apply now and follow in the footsteps of Etsy's very own Leanne Marshall, aka Leanimal, the winner of Season 6 of Project Runway! Designers go head to head in a season-long competition for the glorious prize of showing their work at New York Fashion Week."

It´s on tomorrow morning! Today I was building our Kierrätystehdas recycle fair booth 5 hours (!) with my friend Anne from Garbagebag. But I think it was worth it.. The bad thing about being a perfectionist is that the only thing that is acceptable is well... nothing less than perfect. Here are some pictures from our Garbagebag / OutsaPop Trashion recycle fair booth. The necktie-things, lego jewelry and shredded tees are mine and all the bags are by Garbagebag. The fair is Sathurday-Sunday 188.8.131.529. If you´re in Helsinki, come say hello!!
Nice and Shiny made this vest from refashioning a thrifted 80´s biker jacket. If you´re working with a leather jacket, remember that after cutting the sleeves instead of sewing the sleeve openings you can just fold 1cm / 1/4 inch of the edge and glue them with leather/texitile glue. The lining is places between the folded edge. Textile glue also works on denim and thicker canvas and wool fabrics. Eazy beazy!

Haahaa! I could not stay quiet for more than two hours... I just had to share my newest OutsaPop item with you! The Rose Fascinator handmade from secondhand neckties (both silk and polyester). This one in graffiti and light gray hues.
Ok.. The recycle fair event Kierrätystehdas is this weekend. I´m creating stuff for sale here in a panic but last minute panics seems to work for me. Sooo, I just wanted to inform you that I will not be writing anything here until Monday... Or maybe Sunday evening I´ll do a recap of the fair. Well see how tired I am after it all. Here´s some more photos from my inspiration archives. Sort of a mix tape of images. I cannot remember the source anymore, but if you know it, drop me a line and I´ll credit the images accordingly.
Shirts, shirts, shirts. And a whole lot of fabric stifner...
And finally. Introducing.. The KEBAB ANIMAL!
Have a great weekend you guys!!!
