Words in the air

Paper word garland by Katie Did 2

Paper word garlands hanging from the ceiling made by Katie Did. "Cut out letters, get long strands of bakers twine (any thin string will do, I just have an absurd amount of bakers twine). Using scotch tape, tape the letters to the string, folding each piece of tape from the front of letter, over the string and to the back of the letter. Secure string of words to walls. Done." I think these would make awsome decor for New Years. Maybe from poetry or song lyrics...

This is one of the most beautiful selfmade Christmass decorations I´ve seen in a while (I´m not much into glitter but more traditional Christmass decor). Simple and elegant design. It can be made from felt, leather or paper. You pick your favorite. Tutorial by Betz White. These would look good made to a window ornament or ceiling mobile.

Leather sequins

TopShop Leather sequin scarf

Cutting up secondhand leather jackets into sequins/paillettes/scales might take a while but they make such beautiful effect to basic black clothing. Although I prefer them to be less monotone sized than these by Topshop. My favorite is the scarf made to a jersey base (old t-shirts?). Using felt makes a similar effect but with less rock and roll.. Photos via TopShop. Thanks for the tip Stella!

Dark winter angel

Who said padded winter coats have to look ugly and unfashionable? At least this one by Philip Plein with embroidered shiffon and bead wings looks pretty fierce. Via Twistedlamb.

Diesel SS10 denim dress suit jacket

Diesel SS10 denim dress suit jacket 11

If you find a good basic denim jacket from the fleamarket, buy also matching jeans. Not to wear them together, of course, as tone on tone denim top and botton don´t work together. Unless you cut the jean legs, make a slit, fold the edges and sew it to the back of your denim jacket. And behold you´ll have a frack-styled denim dress suit jacket! I´m so making this for summer. OutsaPop Trashio book - nro 6 and nro 7 finished

OutsaPop DIY zipper detailed shirt 5

Here are two more shirts from my upcoming OutsaPop Trashion Book. Reconstructed, refitted and detailed with zippers and studs. Made from two mens flannel shirts that I found from UFF seconhand store. Seven down, three (or six) to go.... I´ve been sewing 14 hours straight so far (trashion marathon) and there´s still work to be done. I´m propably not able to finish all that I planned tonight, so I´ll have to replace some pieces with secondhand and maybe leave some work for tomorrow. I´m making my book with Books On Demand.

OutsaPop high waisted denim skirt

This one is a basic denim skirt with raised high waisted corset top. It will also be featured in OutsaPop Trashion Book tutorials. This high waist recon idea can also be made to refashion jeans. Same instructions.. Reconstructed from a denim skirt and a pair of jeans that I found from UFF seconhand store. I´m making my book with Books On Demand. Four down, nine to go....

OutsaPop high waisted suit pants

I´m sewing 24/7 today as we have my upcoming (Cry Baby inspired) OutsaPop Trashion Book photoshoot on tomorrow. Here are the first finished pieces for guys, narrow legged high waisted suit pants and embroidered pin-up t-shirt. These will also be featured in my book tutorials. The pant pattern is unisex so girls can also make it fitted for themselves from suitpants or use the high waist instructions to spice up an old wool skirt. Reconstructed from two woollen mens suit pants and tee that I found from UFF seconhand store. I´m making my book with Books On Demand. Three down, ten to go....

I should have used a darker shade of ocra when embroidering the skin lines... I had bought a metallic gold thread but it did not embroider nice to this tee. Too rough. Oh well, live and learn. I´ll re-do it if I have time..
