Zara Spring Summer 2010 The Young Catalogue is filled with great DIY ideas for spring and summer:
1. High waisted secondhand jeans cut from thigh. Fold and you´ve got hot summer shorts. Tear pocket openings and folds with a cheese grinder or seam ripper. Wear with a thrifted stripey tee (Marimekko for example) and your dad´s old suspenders. Tie a narrow scarf around your hair.
2. Boyfriend jeans to highwaisted with belt. Rip the waistband off, cut out belt loops and sew 6-8 inches from other secondhand lightweight jeans (that are way too big for you) waist. Make a belt fron the rest on the jeans. Don´t worry about the zipper.. With the belt on the zipper does not have to come all the way up or be changed!

3. Spend an afternoon drawing and scribling with a permanent marker or textile pen. You can sketch the image first with a ball point pen. It usually comes off in wash.

4. Small denim jacket to vest by cutting out sleeves, 1/2 inches from shoulder seam. Fray using a seam ripper.

5. Find a a-lined puffy skirt from the fleamarket. Cut and sew to desired length. Add different height layers of gathered lace on and under the skirt. Decorate with dome studs.
