I agree with Val from BleachBlack. Prada chandellier heels DIY. Also these jewelled heels by DSquared are kinda nice. Made with old/vintage necklaces. Both definately doable DIY projects. Now where could I find the time...

*edit* Some of you were wondering about the wearability and sound that glass chrystalls make. Yup.. Use plastic. It´s more inexpensive anyways.. Although glass does have a nice shine to it. But still, use plastic. It will be safer and less noisy. I´d sew the chrystalls on with see-through fishing line.

Rachel Freire just does it for me every season. You can clearly see her costume design background working well to her advantage as her creations are powerful, strong and they define gravity. The amount of ruffle use is absolutely ridigilous, but they just work every time. I need that black leather vest with skyscraper high royal tulle collar. OutsaPop Easter fascinator tutorial

Etsy had a meeting in Helsinki in February and I had the pleasure of meeting the very charming Matt Stinchcomb from Etsy Communities there. He asked me to make a trashion tutorial for Storque, How-To Tuesdays column. And so I did. Easter themed of course since spring is almost here. To me this was a huge honor as I´ve been a loyal shopper and supporter of Etsy for many years now and I feel it has made a huge difference in how DIY is seen and sold these days online.

Wearing fanciful fascinators is a guaranteed way to get attention. I prefer them to buying pretty shoes, as flaunty hair accessories are a sure way to crown any outfit and get noticed. They also easy and fast to make, suit any hair style and are much cooler to wear than hats. This hand-sewn fascinator is made to a round crafting felt base. They can be decorated with pretty much anything, including leftover fabrics, ribbons, cords and lace doilies... Anything lightweight will work! I enjoy a bit of humor in my dressing up, so I often use small toys, plastic flowers and other objects to decorate my fascinators.

Now I can walk around Helsinki with a birds nest or a black raven on my head and so can you!

Helsinki Vintage this Sunday!!

The next Helsinki Vintage will be held this Sunday 7.3.2010 in Cable Factory. Twice a year organized Helsinki Vintage gathers the best vintage and second hand dealers of Finland and offers a facinating and vast variety of goodies from past decades. The event has it all from decor to original vintage fashion items. The one-day vintage event is topped with entertaining program with hint of nostalgia and a cool cafeteria with flavors and sweets accordingly. Sales range is empasized on fashion, but there are also interior and collecting items available. Program consists different acts for example on stage there has been a coupletband, burlesqueshow and vintage styling show. Tickets can be purchased through Tiketti for 9 euro.
