A Pair And A Spare made herself a pair of the Burberry Resort 2012 beaded tribal heels. Very quick and simple DIY project! I found some better images of the shoes to help you see the model more clear. Enjoy!
When you don´t find the perfect shirt, you can always make one yourself with textile markers / crayons or fabric paints. I love this thunderbird print on his denim shirt!! Also note that shorter necklaces can be worn as head jewelry (use pins to keep in place).

In case you have not noticed yet crystal and animal tooth necklaces are the bomb right now. It all goes with the new wave hippie mystique thing going on. These are by Eliana Masgalos for VOOO. Available at Fashion Food. Eliana is also a very good example on how jewelry is photographed well for sales (Etsy sellers take notes!). I love her drawings and inspiration notebooks on the background which highlights the item and just makes it step out from the rest. I wish her design career all the best as I´m a loyal follower of her style blog THIS IS STYLE SKETCHBOOK and I think she is one the people to follow now.

Zack Lo makes some amazing statement heels. After browsing through his collection, I´m feeling I need to find my glue gun, feathers, fringes and bags of studs. And if I can sourse some vintage lace and fur trimmings from the fleamarkets. They are something, huh?
This is how you make a dress using plastic! OutsaPop approved!

Finally I found a tutorial for making your own branch hangers! I´ve been looking for one ever since I saw these. Remember that you can always paint them (example white, black or red) to match them with your decor.

I have a huge appreciation for people who cherish their styles authenticity and artists who are dedicated to reviving old fashioned and nearly extinct techniques. Daniel Carrillo is the one of those artists. A photographer and printmaker from Seattle, Daniel has taken over 100 portraits using a mid 19th century photographic process called the wet collodion method or wet plate process which required the photographic material to be coated, sensitized, exposed and developed within the span of about fifteen minutes. The process is complex, incorporating several steps and requiring the subject to be completely still for a long time due to an extremely slow exposure. The outcome, however, is hauntingly beautiful.
Check out Daniel Carrillo´s blog for more of his pictures and this video that follows the fascinating process from beginning to end!

Agustina Woodgate has found a clever way to make the thrift store shopping experience even more rewarding by sneakily stitching "Poetry Tags" onto clothing for shoppers to later discover. I love this type of secondhand meets artistry type of projects!
UK-based textile designer Claire-Anne O'Brien loves playing with the textural elements of knitting stitches. The oversized knitting "threads" are fabric tubes filled with stuffing and then braided/crocheted/weawed/knitted to look like the real thing.
Wanna try this the trashion way? Use old pantyhose as tubes.
Remade is one of Bitching and Junkfood's in-house labels. I´ve posted about their stuff before many times as it is too cool to pass by but easily DIYable if you´re short on cash. Go do it already!!
One of the great innovations in online DIY/craft forums is that you can download (and therefore save!) and print the pattern pieces out from home. Easy and fast! But also share your own sewing patterns, tutorials and projects with others.
You can find the downloadable (and printable) pattern and sewing instructions for this dress over at BurdaStyle. Available in sizes 44-52.

I always love to look at pictures of my mom in the 70´s. In one of the pictures she is hanging out at the beach in her selfmade crocheted bikini. She looked (and still does!) gorgeous. Crocheted bikinis and swimsuits are a hippie classic and they look amazing also worn with jeans and shorts off-beach. Etsy has a variety of styles and colors to choose from.
Or you can DIY one yourself. I cannot crochet or knit at all so my weapon of choice would be to cut the pieces from crocheted table cloths, like in the top picture. Sew a fabric underneath from skincolored underwear slip so it will not be so see through and use 2-3 old narrow leather belts as attachements. Remember to put elastis bands at each end of the belts to make the piece more fitted. Crocheted pieces should always be very tight when you make or buy them as the tend to stretch a bit.

I recently cut up two pairs of leather pants to shorts. Now I have the legs still left and unused. I´m sure they would serve me well if I made them to a leather shopping tote. The smiley stamp will be a different story. My leather is so soft that regular leather carving or tooling mathods propably will not work. I´m sure the only way is to stamp or press it on, but where do I get a smiley stamp that size.. Anywayz.
